There are three (3) options to choose from within the Blue Advantage Saver line:

  1. Blue Advantage Saver 1 – Customers can make unlimited non-preventative visits to a primary care physician, each visit with a $25 Co-Payment.  This plan offers a drug benefit subject to a $500 Deductible, you pay $10, $45, $65 (Generic, Brand, Specialty).
  2. Blue Advantage Saver 2 – Customers can make up to four (4) non-preventative visits per year to a primary care physician, each visit with a $25 Co-Payment.  This plan offers a drug benefit of $10 Co-Payment for Generic Drugs Only.
  3. Blue Advantage Saver 3 – Customers have no limit on non-preventative benefits, but each visit is subject to your deductible and co-insurance.  The drug benefit is the same as Blue Advantage Saver 2.

Compared to Blue Cross & Blue Shield of NC’s most popular plan (Blue Advantage Plan B), a consumer could save 30-39 percent with Blue Advantage Saver 2 or 13-19 percent with Blue Advantage Saver 1.

On a final note…Consumers who purchase, or move to, the Blue Advantage Saver product will not meet the standards set by the Federal Government to be “grandfathered”.
