The News & Record is reporting that the Republican led Senate & House have stopped all funding and subsequent work on North Carolina’s Online Marketplace for private health insurance (as mandated under President Barack Obama’s health care overhaul (the marketplace is otherwise known as “The Exchange”).

One point of contention with lawmakers is the fact that the Federal Government will make all the rules regarding the exchange, so they feel it is pointless for North Carolina to spend any time and money in setting up a “state run exchange”.
