Annual Events In Clemmons NC

Table of Contents

The Village of Clemmons is proud to offer many yearly festivals. Though it’s small, the area provides many events to bring together friends and families in their lively community.

Here are some of our favorite annual events in Clemmons, NC.

Tanglewood Festival Of Lights

Location: Tanglewood Park

When: November – January

The annual Tanglewood Festival of Lights is a MUST see if you happen to be in the Winston Salem & Clemmons area between November and December.

The tour runs you through a winter wonderland of Christmas and other holidays lights.

There are over one million (1,000,000) lights along the journey that is fun for the entire family.

Clemmons Lip Sync Battle

Location: Southwest Elementary School

When: March

A fun event that’s hosted yearly by Forsyth Woman Magazine and The Village of Clemmons. It’s a musical event which allows local individuals and businesses to compete. You’ll find firefighters, police, churches, mascots, and other local notables aiming for their bragging rights.

The best part is that admission is donations rather than money. This year, the donations were toiletry items and other necessities for local foster families.

Forsyth Creek Week

Where: Throughout Forsyth County

When: March

An annual fishing event that takes place around various waterways in Forsyth County. It’s a great opportunity for families to learn just how finite and vital water is as a resource for all living things. The event offers hands-on learning, activities for children, recreational activities, guest speakers, and more ways to enjoy, protect, and appreciate Clemmons’ streams and creeks.

Creek Week is sponsored by North State Environmental who focuses on restoring waterways to their natural states through bio-engineering, erosion control, reforestation, stormwater management, and the reconstruction and renovation of wetlands.

Movie Nights In The Village

Where: Jerry Long YMCA

When: Various nights through the year

This is a free event that’s perfect for all families. On various nights during the year movies that are family-friendly are projected onto big screens on front fields at the Jerry Long YMCA. If you plan to attend, it’s best to bring chairs and blankets for seating. Most families like to arrive an hour or so before the start of the movie to socialize, purchase dinner from local vendors, enjoy the on-site DJ, and allow your kids to play on the two on-site playgrounds.

The movie nights do incorporate donations. In the past, non-perishable foods have been collected by the Clemmons Food Pantry and new toys by the Clemmons Rotary.

The movies begin at sunset, with the event beginning at least an hour before dusk.

Monster Dash and Goblin Hop

Where: Village Point Greenway

When: October – Near Halloween

The Monster Dash and Goblin Hop is the perfect opportunity to grab your ninjas, monsters, goblins, and princesses to “goblin hop” along the Village Point Greenway. Your child can dress in costume and visit the local organizations and businesses for various games and kid’s activities. You’ll find lots of fun things for the kids to do such as creating mummy apples, hammering golf tees into pumpkins, basketball, bean bag tosses, spoon racing, learning to dance, and much more. There are tables set up where the kids will find cool giveaways such as spider rings, tote bags, pencils, coupons to local establishments, and much more.

This is a free event and parking is located at Morgan Elementary School.

Clemmons Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony

Where: Village Hall

When: First Tuesday after Thanksgiving

The Village of Clemmons hosts an annual Tree Lighting Ceremony each year. What better way to kick off the holidays than joining neighbors for music, cookies, snowfall, and a visit with Santa Claus? This is an important ceremony for many people in the community. Every year a new family is chosen to light the tree. So, it’s a great way to meet new people and spend time with friends and loved ones.
