What Do You Need to Know About Sara Surigao? (In Their Own Words)
I grew up in a small southern beach town —an upbringing that fueled my love for big cities and travel. My first taste of city life was at Peace College in Raleigh, NC, where I knew no one but embraced the adventure. I graduated as part of the last all-women class before returning to my sleepy hometown.
I’ve walked different career paths—journalism, healthcare, home building and interior design, and now insurance—but at the heart of it all, I simply love helping people. It’s a thread that connects everything I’ve done, from telling stories to caring for others, creating homes, and now guiding people through insurance. That kind of purpose-driven path is really special!
How Sara Surigao Wants To Be Remembered
BY ALL: The girl whose life was fueled by ‘90s music, grounded by faith, and powered by iced coffee. These were the rhythms and the roots that shaped her—and in the end, she left a lasting mark on the people who mattered most.
BY HUSBAND: No matter where life took us, we were always each other’s home.
BY CHILDREN: The mama who clapped so loud for them that they never even noticed who didn’t.
BY PARENTS: A loving daughter who always made room at her table—for family, for friends, for anyone who needed a place to belong.
BY FRIENDS: The friend who listened without judgment, showed up without hesitation, and celebrated their victories like they were her own.
